Ceahlau 2004 pictures - finally here

I’ve created a Gallery with the pictures we’ve taken this holiday in Ceahlau.
Some of them are quite dark (because of the clouds) but we really got some tan those days.

Link is no longer available - site upgrade
[See the pictures here.]

Enjoy.

Back from the mountains

It was GREAT, just GREAT…

Short schedule:
- day 1 - rainy, we were tired after a long travel (23:00 to 9:00).. played pool that night
- day 2 - went to Duruitoarea waterfall, got to Fantanele, returned to the hotel (terrible trip, big difference in height)
- day 3 - mountains - break, got to Borsec, seen some real mineral springs, tasted some SO4 rich mineral water, saw 2 caves
- day 4 - got up the mountain, to Fantanele, seen “Caciula Ciobanului”, “Panaghia” rock, Toaca peak - great view from here, got to Dochia, returned to Fantanele, returned to the hotel
- day 5 - walked to the closest village, seen some old relics, seen “Izvorul Muntelui” lake - trip on the lake with a boat…
- day 6 - had a rest… :).. terrible sun, got some tan.. got up a close hill to a lonely tree…
- day 7 - woke up very early, took the bus to Bicaz, took a car to “Cheile Bicazului” (you can compare it to some very small canyon), walked with the luggages in our back through it - great view, got to Lacul Rosu, seen the “Lacul Rosu” lake, took a bus to Gheorgheni, travelled home by train

I can’t say more, just wait for the pictures. I’ll get my hands on them and I’ll publish some relevant ones.

My brother switched to Gaim

Wow.. I was astonished this evening when I saw my brother using Gaim. He is running Gaim on Windows - he needs Windows for the web design tools he uses.

Why is it using Gaim and not MSN anymore? Because Gaim has tabs - not a great reason, but very useful for him. He finaly realised that functionality counts in an Instant Messaging client, not only a beautiful skinned interface.
See what happens when the devs listen to the users’ needs? A new happy Gaim user appears :D.

The next step is getting my brother to use Jabber, only jabber… Jabber is evolving.. the Jabber clients are evolving… more and more users are getting to Jabber… somewhere in the future there will be so many applications that some users will be forced to moved to Jabber.

The first summer holiday during university

I’m not sure if you can imagine how somebody can feel after finishing a long (it seemed very long) 1 month exams period. The last one in a year. Try to imagine how good I felt when I knew I finished my first univeristy year, all the exams passed… happy to get into the next year… happy to enjoy my summer holiday.

Believe me, it feels really good…

And so, my first university summer holiday starts…
I have tons of plans for it…

To everyone having a summer holiday… Enjoy!
To everyone not having a summer holiday… Try to get one!
